What type of shoes should I wear to go golfing?

GoldmanSachs M&A asked:
I usually wear Sperry Loafers with no socks to walk around, but would i wear those to the driving range or should i wear regular sneakers.

Don’t wear lofters, you’ll come right out of them when you swing. If you don’t have golf shoes (which is your best option), go with athletic shoes and socks. They will give you better traction and better support.

I play golf about once every two months. I play with golf clubs purchased from a garage sale in 1989. The clubs were manufactured in the early 1960s.
People do not seem to care what I wear or care about the clubs I use. We are all on the golf course to enjoy each other. Golf is secondary. Enjoying each other is primary.
If you are concerned about what you should be wearing, talk to the people you are about to play golf with. Some will spend hours telling you the best golf shorts to wear, the best clubs, the best shoes.

Sneakers are your best bet on a driving range…or of course…real golf shoes. =]

i would say get a pair of golf shoes….i mean there are some pretty good deals out there…and it will improve your game and comfort on the course than regular or other shoes…but whatever floats your boat…
