opinions on my high school schedule?
I’m going to be a freshman and I’m working out my 4-year schedule so that I kinda know where I’m going. I really want to get into a ivy league school or johns hopkins, so I tried including the most rigorous courses offered at my school. The thing about my school is that they don’t offer many ap courses.
There are a lot of semester courses at my school, so if you see a class, then a slash (/), then another class, I mean those clases were semester courses. Heres what I have so far:
Freshman:
Spanish II (I already took spansih I)
English9
Physical Education 9/Health
US history 9
Accelerated Biology I
Algebra 2 Honors
Geometry Honors
Sophomore:
Spanish III
English 10
Dance 1 (PE is required and this was one of the pe courses)/Contemporary Literature
Biology II
Western Civilization
Pre-Calculus
Chemistry
Junior:
Spanish IV
US History- American Experience/Area Studes- China
Dance II (again, in place of pe)/ Advanced Writing Honors
Calculus AB AP
Advanced Biology/ Accelerated Math PHysics
US Government and Politics AP/ English literature (Honors)
Chemistry AP
Senior:
Spanish AP
Survey of American Literature honors/ Shakespeare Honors
Advanced Physics
Calculus BC AP
Statistics AP
Social Issues/ Introduction to Philosophy
Music Theory AP
For some reason US Gov. AP is a semester course… So is this a good schedule if I want to apply to a top university?
As for my extracurriculars, I’m thinking of theater at a local club, mock trial, math team, orchestra, science olympics, green club (this environment protection club), student council, National Honor Society, and MUN. I’m really into digital photography, so I’ll probably join a club or something if I can find one. I’m not sure when I’m going to do which activity, but these are the activities that I am interested in and want to do.
I’m going to try out for my school’s golf team as well.
Assuming that I’ll get high grades (hopefully all A’s) in my classes and I really participate in all those activities and get chosen, does this sound like a good plan in preparation for an Ivy league school?
thanks:)
