How Do I Make College not Suck?

My life is extremely boring and meaningless, like almost everybody else’s, because I live in America. I’m going to Ohio State University in the Fall as a junior
and I don’t really want to, but my parents already paid all these fees and everything. I’m majoring in biochemistry; it’s completely boring, but the idea of ANY office job sounds boring. I bet even if I changed my major I would still not like college. I bet the only fun thing is going to be drinking and having sex (which I probably won’t do very often, having sex, that is). I was thinking of maybe joining a couple clubs, that is, if the clubs are not centered around talking or building toys. I want to have an adventure, and do something exciting and dangerous. I wanted to join the army (crazy pipe dream) and I almost considered dropping out of college and moving to another city and working fast food. If I have to stare at another book on another golf-course lawn, I’m going postal. If anyone knows any good clubs, or any good ways to have adventures–and by this I mean danger–please let me know, or if anyone knows any good ideas for majors that aren’t office jobs, preferrably working outdoors. I am not a technical person; I suck at technology, and I’m also short and a girl.
Oh yeah, and I don’t really like socializing either. Not antisocial, I just don’t consider talking to be fun.

My sister felt the same way about college, so she joined the marines. She was transferred all over the world, from Japan, to Kabul, to California (She went to school in Georigia originally). Now that’s she’s out, we can’t get her to stay in one place. She works in Vegas sometimes as a canoe guide, sometimes as a hostess in bars/casinos, as a contracter in Kuwait, pretty much anything fun she can find while she travels. She got her basics in college, enough to get her by in an office job if she HAD to resort to that, or if she HAD to go back to school. If you’re forced to stay strictly in school, look into studying abroad. At least you’ll be somewhere different and cool and you can experience more of the world, rather than just a… campus.

1. It is early enough for your parents to get a full refund of tuition and housing.
2. Change your major to something you enjoy. There are plenty of majors out there to choose from. Surely there is something you will like — Maybe Sport & Leisure Studies, Tourism, or Anthropology.
3. If you focus on sex and alcohol you will not be successful and could be academically or judicially dismissed — which is a total waste of time and money.
4. Join several student organizations. OSU has over 900 to choose from including Whitewatering Rafting club, Skydiving club, Scuba Club.
5. Plan on Studying Aboard for a semester during your studies.
