Does a golf shirt need to have 3 buttons?

      A collared shirt is all that’s required for proper attire

      There is no such rule. I’ve seen golf polos with 4 buttons. They even make full button down golf shirts.

      The safe option to consider but would go with collar some golf courses allow roll neck sweaters but would go with the safe option to be honest.
