Kiki asked: I’m 15 and don’t have a job (not even old enough in my state). I have to go to my dad for money for a gift for my mom and vice versa. With the whole economic crisis, it’s really hard for both of my parents. And also, my mom just had a birthday on Thursday, so her birthday is somewhat close to Christmas. Ever since I was like, 12 (no longer cute and innocent) it’s been hard to find gifts for my parents, and even though they tell me “Oh it’s ok; I don’t have to get anything,” I feel bad if I don’t get them anything. So what are some nice, NOT COSTLY (preferably max. of $25) things I could get or do for my parents?
Here are some of each of my parents’ interests:
Mom (age 51): sewing (big interest), working out, hair, shopping, shoes, cleaning
Dad (age 50): golf (big interest), household items, sunglasses, jogging, cooking
Also just a few notes:
*My dad is about to retire by Summer 2009
*My parents are divorced, although my dad has a new wife [I hate her.]
*Both of my parents are black [so they don’t tan]
*In general, my dad makes more money than my mom
*My mom is a single mother
*My mom is Christian; my dad is non-religious
