What is the better golf store for gift cards: Golf Galaxy or Golfsmith?

SM asked:

I am going to buy my boyfriend $100 gift card to one, but I have never been in either store….just wondering…what is the difference between the stores?

I don’t care about online shopping because I know he will not do that…..but both stores are by his house and I don’t know which to choose…I wanted to buy one online.

I know he cannot get much with $100 but hopefully some accessories, clothes, balls, etc..

Which store would be better and what is the differene between the two?

Thanks

Jeanne

Abhishek Agarwal asked:

Today there is such a variety of golf gear available on the markets that you can get really confused when you set out to acquire some. With their ad campaigns, some companies try and convince you that since so and so uses their gear, it must be the best, others try and tell you theirs is the most fashionable gear while yet others try and convince you that theirs is the best product since it is the most expensive of all. Still, this goes for any line of advertising you may come across, and like everything else, with golf gear you need to get a first hand opinion of the quality of the products. There is nothing wrong in getting yourself a pair of fashionable golf shoes, but never let fashion take priority over product durability and general quality. This is exactly why Datrek golf gear has stood the test of time; they produce products of the highest quality and at a good price. They design their products giving priority to practicality and quality above all else. After all, fashions may come and go, but durability is what we are looking for. Much has been written about so many companies promising you this and that in terms of fashion and style and durability. Customised Golf Gifts for All Occasions

Saturday, June 27th, 2009
golf gift
The Sports HQ asked:

Custom and personalised golf balls are the preferred gifts for all golf enthusiasts at Christmas or for any special occasion from a corporate golf day to a special golf event such as Nokia’s Golf in the City staged in Canary Wharf, London. As the number of online golf retailers expands – so does the supply of personalisation services such as Golfballs.co.uk who offer the Internet’s best value personalisation service on golf balls, bags, caps and towels in addition to low competitive rates on bulk orders for corporate golf days and events.

Historically, personalisation services were restricted to manufacturers like Titleist, Callaway and Srixon. With a ready supply of golf ball printers for small to medium sized companies on the market – the minimum order size has been reduced substantially to a dozen golf balls – suitable for the smallest of corporate events to stag dos, birthdays or even as Valentines or Christmas presents. To further increase the accessibility to personalised golf balls, online suppliers have developed their own custom build websites allowing orders to placed with ease – including the upload of images, logos and text with an option to preview before placing the order.

With Christmas fast approaching and everyone feeling the pinch from high inflation order your golf gifts online and make substantial savings compared to the high-street. If you are shopping for a golfer who has everything why not treat them to a customised item of golf equipment such as a personalised golf towel or golf bag? If you’re unsure why not purchase a gift voucher allowing the recipient to purchase at their discretion up to a predefined value you decide upon.

To make an online customised purchase from Golfballs.co.uk simply identify which brand of golf equipment and the quantity – followed by the type of personalisation required (text, logo or photo). Additional selections can also be made for selecting the font style and colour. All golf balls used for personalisation are brand new Grade A quality from top brands such as Confidence, Palm Springs, Nike, Callaway, Srixon and Forgan of St. Andrews. Large corporate events can also be catered for with a fast turnaround available on a range of own brands like Confidence and Palm Springs. Smaller orders can usually be despatched the same-day with the option for express next-working day delivery at a small additional cost.

If you’re looking to make an impact at a forthcoming corporate day why not consider kitting out all teams with personalised golf equipment – including company logo and individual names for the personal touch. If the event is offering prizes you should purchase an assortment of gifts from golf caps, shirts and shoes to main prizes of complete golf sets to professional coaching sessions at your local golf course.

Host a Golf Tournament!

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Salem Hassan asked:

The next time you host a golf tournament, make sure you have fabulous golf prizes and golf gifts for your guests! For an even bigger bonus, include hole-in-one insurance to ensure your guests will get a wonderful surprise if they make a hole-in-one! Golf prizes and golf gifts can be anything you choose from personalized golf tees to miniature golf bags! There is no limit to what you provide your guests.

Golf tournament merchandise can also be given as a prize or as a gift. Tournament merchandise can range from t-shirts, hats, gloves, tees, etc. One idea is to create a package and give it as either a prize or gift. The hole-in-one insurance is a perfect way to give away a fabulous golf prize to the winner! The hole-in-one prize can include more than just merchandise. Some packages include vacations for two, free golf lessons or free access to the golf club. There are many ways to create a golf prize package for your participants.

When planning a golf tournament, it is essential include a variety of special touches to make your event the best. One idea is by creating special plates or cups for the food you plan to provide. You can even create tournament tea bags, where the packaging displays the tournament name and date. Tournament tea bags are a fun and unique way to create a special event for your guests and participants. Personalizing your event will not only make it special, but also memorable to your guests and participants.

Another way to have a great tournament is by inviting special guests. Inviting top people in the golf world or in the sports arena is a sure-fire way to have an event that will be talked about for years to come! It would be wonderful to invite the top greats in the world of golf such as Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson. Inviting other celebrities could also help to increase the visibility of the tournament. Promoting the tournament as a charity event is also another idea that can be used to increase participation. Celebrity endorsements are more likely if it is for charity and participants and guests are more willing to pay a higher admission price.

Golf tournaments are fun events to host and provide superb entertainment for the entire family to enjoy! Try attending some golf tournaments for ideas on how to host your own!

Tips On Learning To Play Golf

Monday, June 15th, 2009
golf gift
Pius Victor Ephenus asked:

It takes a considerable amount of effort to learn to play golf well. There are plenty of books around teaching the art of golf. The instructor can help you overcome any form of nervousness that is common among a newcomer to this sport. The process of learning to play will be much easier once you have get hang of it.

One tendency of novices learning golf is to look up when they are striking the ball. This small move can result to a stroke being counted against you even if you do not even strike the ball! Keep your eyes down after hitting the ball! Rotating your hips after hitting should make this easier. When learning golf, extend your arms fully when swinging, it help to create the perfect swing. Finally, after you play a stroke, pace yourself by counting to five before looking up.

There are other mistakes that are common to beginners learning golf on the green and often the putts are missed. Adopt a putting stance and keep looking at the golf ball before you hit ball. This will prevent you form missing the ball or hit it into the wrong direction you want it to go. This may be a small move but it can affect your results dramatically.

Many people learning golf also have a problem with the ball going into the sides of the green, rather than straight ahead. While this may seem like a very complicated problem to correct, it is actually quite simple with a bit of patience. Proper stance is essential to perform the perfect stroke. Take some time to see that you are not hitting the ball from the side of the club. The ball will swing to the side instead of the direction you want it to go. You need to develop the strong and solid swing in order to throw the ball into the direction you want it to go.

It is irritating when hooking becomes a recurring condition for someone learning golf. This is the result of adopting the wrong stance or the way the ball is hit. Due to anxiousness, one may be gripping the club too tightly and this cause hooking to occur. Of course, once you have started making adjustments to your stance or even your grip, you need to practice a bit to improve your skills.

I hope you learn a thing or two from this articles. We have available in our specialized golf gifts store wide ranges of Golf Training Aid, golf learning products, golf swing training and golf fitness training that will improve your golf skills greatly. Putting the Personal Into Their Golfing Plans

Friday, June 12th, 2009
golf gift
John Smith asked:

Golf – what a great way to get a bit of peace and quiet, do a little exercise or even just spend a bit of time with your friends; and apparently those out on the golf course can have a great time too! Okay, so golf does have a lot of benefits for everyone, even those who don’t quite understand where the fun in hitting a small ball with a metal stick actually lies, and if you happen to know any golf fanatics, then why not indulge them with a series of golf gifts this Christmas?

A new set of golf clubs can make for expensive gifts, and any good golfer will probably tell you that a set of clubs need to be tried out just like any pair of shoes: it’s all about the fit. However, personalised golfing gifts such as personalised calendars, are a sure way to make anyone feel as special as Tiger Woods out on the green. Gifts such as an ‘Engraved Golf Putter’ or a ‘Golf Ball Monogrammer’ certainly add a unique twist, so why not give that special someone these personalised gifts that they can truly call their own?

Personalised Calendars are a unique way of making anyone feel special all year round – all you have to do is supply the recipient’s name (or names) and the personalised calendars will be tailored to suit. A golfing-themed image for every month which spells out their name from the aerial view of a hundred golf carts, a feature in a bunker and even on the side of a golf club for the front cover. How many amateur golfers can say they have had their name on the front cover of Golfing Magazine? Well, come April of their personalised calendars, they may have just that! One of the best things about buying golfing personalised calendars is that you don’t even need to worry about browsing the shops for these gifts; think of all the time you can save on staring blankly at the golf section of a sports shop – time well saved for you to pamper yourself!

Personalised calendars are available in a number of themes, from birthdays to Christmas, sports and activities; even those special members of the family such as mum, kids and even the dog can have their own personalised calendars too. These gifts can be tailored to start in any month of the year so your loved one will get to see out all twelve months. A quick browse through the many themes and you’re likely to be stocking up on personalised calendars for the whole family. Just as with the golfing personalised calendars, the other themes all have twelve images that highlight the recipient’s name in a number of magical ways. The personalised calendars are available in two different sizes, A4 personalised calendars are ideal for hanging on the wall for all to share in your loved one’s golfing magic, or smaller desk top personalised calendars for them to be the envy of the office.

The Personalised Calendars set a trend for giving personalised gifts, and those golfing greats of the family could enjoy the ‘Golf Carts Personalised Mug’, Personalised prints or even an ‘Engraved Pewter Trophy’ gifts as well. Just like the personalised calendars, these more intimate gifts are long-lasting treasures to keep.

With those personalised calendars keeping track of golfing dates, business will be booming! It’s often thought that the golf course can be as important as the board room when it comes to business deals; and what a great way to spend an afternoon at work. Staying behind for a few celebratory drinks at the clubhouse afterwards, could be just the chance to show off a particular set of golfing gifts. Golfing cufflinks can add a little pizzazz to any outfit and make for some eye-catching personalised gifts. You could even help to celebrate a win at the eighteenth hole with a very special bottle of champagne - just like the personalised calendars; these bottled gifts can be tailored with any name and a personal message of your choice.

Perhaps you have a future Nick Faldo or Colin Montgomery at home, or want to get your kids interested in the fun – it’s a sport that requires great skill and, as they say, it’s always best to start them young. There are a number of golfing gifts for kids such as the ‘My First Golf Set’ kit or the ‘4 in 1 Chipping Net’; gifts that allow for some back-garden practice and may save you a fortune in household ornaments. The personalised calendars make great gifts for kids too, and you can even add a personal message to their personalised golf calendars for them to cherish forever. With so many golf gifts to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

kathy_is_a_nurse asked:

The graduation is in a couple of weeks and I don’t have a clue what to get him. I want it to be nice…but not outrageously expensive. I don’t mind spending some money, but don’t want to go into debt either.
Roaring…I like your idea of the major golf course pass, but my nephew is a member of the PGA. As I understand it, that means he can play on any major golf course for free. Is that true?

Simple Steps to Making the Perfect Themed Gift Basket

Saturday, June 6th, 2009
golf gift
Jason Azevedo asked:

1) Decide on the theme of your gift basket

Will your gift basket satisfy their sweet tooth or will it relate to personal hobbies?

There are endless themes you can choose from which all depend on who the recipient is (husband/wife, family member, co-worker etc.)

Some examples of themes may be fruit gift basket, wine gift basket, golf gift basket, movie gift basket, etc.)

2) Decide what size and type of gift basket you use

This is where your imagination can run wild as the possibilities for gift baskets containers are endless. Nowadays you can use anything as a gift basket whether it is the old tradition whicker basket or a golf bag, it is up to you.

Also depending on your budget you can decide how big or small you want your gift basket to be, for example if you’re on a smaller budget you would choose a smaller basket so that you can fill it easily with smaller less expensive items.

3) Decide on the variety of items you wish to include

Now you want to include a variety of different items which go along with the theme of your gift basket. For instance, if you are creating a golf themed basket you may want to include things such as golf balls, gloves, glasses, hand towel etc.

Depending on the size of the basket you chose you may also want to adjust what you put into it as well. A basket which is too cluttered or too empty may ruin the look of your masterpiece so try and find a balance.

4) To finish… wrap it up

Make sure to wrap the basket in cellophane paper and tie it up with a ribbon to give it a classy look. Inside the basket make sure you use shredded paper or some other material to offer some cushion in order to keep the items from damaging.

Lastly, if applicable tie a little card with the ribbon to add some more meaning to the gift. We’re certain your recipient will love what you’ve put together
